EMPATHEAST 2014 GATHERED TOGETHER VISIONS FROM 14 COUNTRIES - AND ENDED WITH AN IDEA FOR THE CREATION OF A SOCIAL INNOVATION FUND

Over 350 guests from Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania, Romania, Germany, Russia, Belgium, Montenegro, the Netherlands, Hungary, USA, Slovenia, Italy and Switzerland came to see and take part in the first edition of EMPATHEAST in 2014 in Plovdiv. The 18 speakers showed with examples from the world and the region that reorganization of the current broken societal systems all over the globe starts with empathy as a personal choice and only then can we create a common new vision for a change in the system on a local, national and regional level. 

During the event we made a big debate over the need for the creation of independent financial instrument which would support social entrepreneurs and social innvators on the Balkans. A few organizations stood behind this idea and will come up with a suggestion how such an instrument could work in reality.

The most important mission of the forum was completed - EMPATHEAST gathered together the people who want to see the change in the system and are ready to work for it. During the last day of the event everybody united behind the idea that they need to stay together in a community which would develop and propose applicable solutions for reorganization of the society and current system. This is why our idea is to turn this website into a platform for communication and exchange of the newly-born "tribe of the empatheasts". 

We, the organizers from "Ideas Factory Association" ask you to use your citizen's compass and share with us the road which leads to our dreams. Who knows? It's possible that after EMPATHEAST our compasses will find each other and we will end up together again!
